Inspired by gutek's 'helicopter. Mp3,' this is a recording of my coffee machine with only a low pass filter and flange applied. Sounds like a distant helicopter.

Robotic voice effect using a en:vocoder. This effect is often found in film and television productions. For the technically minded, the voice is modulating a 110Hz en:sawtooth wave, which is the note A two octaves below en:A440. There is also some en:reverberation and phasing added. This unmodified file was generated because i was trying to record bird songs. In swooped this fully-marked police helicopter; the pilot drastically cut back his forward speed and passed slowly directly overhead, just above treetop level. Now that they have my address, i'm suspicious. And more determined than ever to move.

Recorded with iphone near an heliport. Several helicopters came and go. Some with turbines. The background is a lazy morning in a lagoon park.

This is the warm up then lift off of an erickson sky crane. It was operating out of the central cascade mountains in washington state, in the us. This helicopter is for fire fighting, and can carry 3,000 gallons of water or retardant to a fire - it's enormous. There are only 31 sky cranes in existence, and in august of 2018 we have two of them fighting fires in our surrounding mountains.
